After the sad loss of our beloved Roussanne block (due to phylloxera), we needed something a little left field to fill the void. We ventured out of the Yarra and found a block of Pinot Blanc in Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula. The handpicked fruit was whole bunch pressed, and the high turbidity juice was fermented in a stainless-steel tank, followed by aging on light lees. A European feel to the wine…

Drink now to enjoy vibrant varietal flavours or allow depth and complexity to grow over the next five to ten years or so.

Nose - Citrus dominant with lime zest and lemon blossom notes. Hints of nectarine, talc and faint musk.

Palate - A lively line of citrus with subtle florals. Plenty of tension with textural elements adding to the mid palate. Citrus pith - peach skin phenolics. Picked early and closer to the linear style of the 2021, this should age nicely.

Fermented and matured in stainless-steel.
