At Notes we’re purveyors of a hand selected range of the most inventive artisanal regional wines.

At the heart of our store is an exclusive selection of wines made especially for and available only at Notes.

Made by winemaker Tom Shanahan each is small-batch, handcrafted, and offered with very limited release. Working with friends in Victoria and across Australia Tom accesses unique small parcels of fruit from premium vineyards and produces a constantly changing selection of new, interesting and different wines.

Meet Tom

Working his way from hospitality into wine is a path well-travelled…

As Tom Shanahan's interest in wine grew, too did his desire to make wine.

His first vintage in the granite belt in 2009 was followed by a year later in the Yarra Valley, where he did a vintage with Giant Steps Wine in 2010. Safe to say, he was hooked.

Tom has been living and working in Adelaide for more than a decade, working on brands like Seppelt, Penfolds and Innocent Bystander.

Tom’s wine journey has exposed him to different regions, styles, and winemaking processes – experience he puts to use creating wines reflective of site, season and expression.
