2022 St Huberts MUSEUM Pinot Blanc - Gold December Shipment
After the sad loss of our beloved Roussanne block (due to phylloxera), we needed something a little left field to fill the void. We ventured out of the Yarra and found a block of Pinot Blanc in Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula. The handpicked fruit was whole bunch pressed, and the high turbidity juice was fermented mainly in a stainless-steel tank, followed by aging on light lees. A European feel to the wine…
Drink now to enjoy vibrant varietal flavours or allow depth and complexity to grow over the next three to six years or so.
Nose - A mix of lifted fruit and floral notes, with a mineral backdrop. Nectarine, guava, faint musk, wet rock.
Palate - Soft and fleshy with a core line of juicy acidity. Baked pears and citrus blossom flavours. Picked a little riper, so not as “tense” and “wound up” as the 2021.
Fermented and matured in around 70% stainless-steel, and 30% 1YO French barriques.
